This is the year of meeting your obligations, focusing on yourself, rather than projecting outward to all the things that are seemingly going “wrong” with the world.
Stop listening to and being anxious about all the negative situations in our world, and instead direct your energy and attention into your own life and relationships,
and clean out your monkey mind and overburdened heart, delight in striving to create personal inner balance.
If everyone did this – outer imbalance would simply fall away

How to be at peace now?
By accepting whatever is happening right now,
and stopping the mental chatter that is telling you that “it” should be different to how it is

It is only the ego that is telling you that life is not fair, not right, shouldnt be like this…whatever “this” is.

Life IS – Budha calls it TATATA – and it is pointless arguing with the LIFE that is flowing through you.

Feel the emotions that arise in response to whatever life is presenting to you, and move on !!!
Hanging on to the emotion creates a story in the mind, and a perpetuation of the story, much to the delight of the ego -
the ego loves to suffer!!!!

Be unaffected by whatever life is delivering to you and remember that the purpose of life is not to avoid crises and disappoinements -
it is rather to arrive at each moment unaffected by the dramas of “”BEFORE” and “LATER”.
Arrive in the moment loving yourself and the life flowing through you – whatever that looks like !!!

[the secret is... that it is all an illusion, and in particular my reactions are illusions based on inaccurate and distorted stories that I tell myself... and that everything will pass away - and tell me - what is it that remains???]

It is also the place you go to for your quiet time of meditations, affirmations, and turning your face to the god/goddess. It is the place where you focus your mind on spiritual matters and on what you want to create in your life. Just as we put on special clothes for certain activities, we put certain things on the altar for different times of the month. You have your outfit for tennis, for dancing, for hot dates, for shopping, for swimming, for housework and for each season of the year. So A GODDESS has her ALTAR  as the “outfit” for communing with the gods, for presenting herself to her own inner world of the goddess.

We all have different faces for different people and occasions. The goddess is an inner face, usually kept hidden as we perform our daily routines. So in creating an ALTAR, you are “facing the goddess”. You are setting up a reminder that you are loved simply for being alive

Your altar can be inside or outside; it can be permanent or spontaneous; it can be prominent or fit in your handbag; it can be visible to others, or on a shelf in your cupboard.

So here are the 5 most important things to know

* your altar is personal. It is considered bad manners to touch anything on another’s altar. Keep it clean and attend to it daily.

* if you are working with just one deity, place it in the centre. Otherwise, the goddess sits on the rear left hand side, and the god sits on the rear right hand side. Use just one candle for each deity.

* have each element represented on your altar – earth, air, fire, water and spirit.

 Symbols for earth are rock,crystals,salt, sand, pentacle. Symbols for air are feather, athame [sword] or incense. Symbols for fire are candle, matches, wand or staff. Symbols for water are cup, water vase, sea shells, dolphins and mermaids, chalice or mirror. Symbols for spirit are cauldron, music, chimes, bell.

* have each direction represented on your altar.  North is an earth direction represented by salt and the colours black, brown, green. South is a fire direction represented by the precious stone ruby and the colours red, gold, crimson, orange. East is an air direction represented by topaz and the colour white, pale yellow and pale blue.  West is  a water direction represented by aquarmarine and the colours black, indigo, grey, green, blue, aqua.

*include anything that represents the goddess you are working with,  and anything you feel is pleasurable for your senses. The beautiful appearance of your altar symbolises the respect and love you have for yourself.  For example the fan is a symbol for OSHUN;   the white ostrich feather is a symbol for MAAT; the rainbow is a symbol for NUT.

Now let the energy of your GODDESS ALTAR  permeate your home, so that your entire home becomes a sacred space, and you connect with Vesta -the Roman goddess of the home – and realise the joy of coming home to a place where all are loved and welcomed.

 She has the courage to follow her heart’s desire, and to go for what she wants with grace, intention and honor. She celebrates her achievements with music, song and dance, relishing the grand adventure that is her life.
A Goddess is ready to stand up for herself, with the same passion and respect that she would give to others.
A Goddess knows what her divine mission is – she is connected to her own spiritual essence. She knows her strengths and her weaknesses. She knows the deepest desires and fears held within her feminine heart. She may be afraid, but she has the courage to live her truth anyway.
And she stands up for herself because she knows it is the greatest gift she can give herself – and others. She stands up for herself because she knows she MUST – for the sake of her daughters. She initiates her daughters through the way she lives her life.
She knows that love often says “no”. She is flexible enough to be open to new ideas and adventures, but solid enough to say “NO” to anything that goes beyond her limits.
She accepts nothing less than the best for herself in all her relationships, and she gifts this level of love and commitment to all in her inner circle.

A Goddess knows that it is a priviledge  to be in her inner circle, and only allows those who treat her well to enter and remain. 

A Goddess knows she is a high priestess, a willing vessel for the goddess energy of wholeness and renewal. By living the path of her unique purpose, she  teaches the principles that brings forth a new humanity -  a humanity that holds deep reverence and respect for all life.

The goddess has lived in the realm of myth, existing beyond time and space and daily reality. It is a symbolic world that dwells within us at levels deeper than our normal consciousness.  However, it is time now for THE LIVING GODDESS, a time for you to  openly and vividly engage in your life in a way that expands the possibility of  GODDESS EXPEREINCE  in every aspect of your life.

Remember, it does not have to be a BIG thing, it can be a life of small things done really well; it can be an attitude that you bring to the world; an invisible commitment that changes the lives of loved ones; a flavour or vibration about you that is your truth, and by living it, you remind others to be their truth.

REMEMBER – you affect your world not so much by what you do or say, but by WHO YOU ARE
